Video Phone: Beyonce & Lady Gaga… What the hell?

videophoneSomebody want to explain to me the point of including Lady Gaga in this video, besides officially making Beyonce the last one to get on the Gaga Gravy Train? I was kind of disappointed there wasn’t more Gaga in the video… but I have to admit, Beyonce looks fierce as a black woman.

Listen, the song is hot. I’m not disputing that. I am down with Bangladesh and I loved “A Milli” – he’s a fantastic producer. I like Beyonce, I love Lady Gaga. I just don’t get what the point of having Lady Gaga in a video where they switch personalities. Gaga does some wack Beyonce moves that are fully intentional and have nothing to do with camera speed and Beyonce does fashion Gaga with toy weapons. I clearly am missing out on the symbolism in this video, any video this stupid has got to be symbolic, right?

The booty tries to and fails to pop… kind of like this video.

Yes, hunny I agree – the video is über-stupid, so you’d think it has some kind of über-message … but in fact i think it über-fails just like u say: the booty fails to pop.

Although, speaking of booty, and to use our friend’s Hail Mary Jane’s term: Beyonce could get it.

well, at least gaga had a part in the song – this post had me worrying it was just a cameo alone.

maybe the point of the gagafication was in attempts to distract from the fact that this is the worst. song. ever.

you’d think with jayz as hubs beyonce might have gleaned something more from the right way to do things beyond simply collaboration.

    bras and ranties boos.

*silently waits for Kanye to come bursting into the video to tell us Beyonce shakes ass waaaay better then Gaga*

Sorry babes. Gaga makes me wanna gag gag. It’s like a can of smashed tomatoes mixed with peas meets the smallest penis I’ve ever seen.

I think I’m being a bitch today. Fine. I am being a bitch today.

    *grumps*

    Just some notes:

“but I have to admit, Beyonce looks fierce as a black woman” – as a black woman… why not just woman?

Beyonce was on the “bandwagon” when her album was being produced.. BEFORE Lady Gaga even had an album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The song is on Beyonce’s album. Created BEFORE everyone loved Lady Gaga…

haha what the hell was that response?

Sorry you feel Beyonce can’t be fierce as a black woman and that the song was better without Lady Gaga in it.

    Song is sick.
    Video is wack.

OMG so I was catching up on music videos last night and ran across this one and had to stop it part way through the first time I watched it because it was SO embarrassing. I watched it the second time through cause I was forcing Matt to endure it with me.

I love Beyonce and I think she’s uber talented and ridiculously gorgeous, but I definitely think she’s pulling a Tyra Banks aka. starting to lose a bit of her creative marbles. Or, you know, they’re just “being themselves” which really just looks a lot like going insane.

No denying Beyonce looks hot, although her Nintendo bikini gets two thumbs down.

And Lady Gaga is my new favourite thing. She’s SO eccentric and sexy (like in her latest “Bad Romance” wooo!) and was shockingly lacklustre in this one. I should really look this up, but I don’t “get” why she’s in this song at all. She adds nothing and whose career is this supposed to be benefiting? Gaga’s? Or Beyonce’s?

This ended up being a bit of an unintentional rant. Wow:)
